Actually, it was claimed to be a fake by someone who was part of the organization that made and published it. So it is not known if it is fake or a cover up. You decide.

Hey Toast, we can ask if they’ll let us be the NDA photographers for the D700Xs. Let’s see if they go for our pitch:

“You see Mr Kariya-san, you don’t want pirates chasing paper airplanes selling your cameras. No…No you don’t. You want girls in Nikon bikini’s using the D700Xs to ah, show off it’s low light abilities. Ya that’s it!”

with the 70-200 at $2400, i wonder if Nikon will get a clue and release a 70-200 f/4, with superior optics to the current 70-200, it would sell like mad, IMO.

The part of this dream that doesn’t make sense is that why would Nikon “buy back” stock that it wasn’t paid for in the first place (unless it was able to buy it back at substantial discount)? Secondly, a lot of that stock has to be equipment that has or will soon be discontinued. That’s not to say it’s worth nothing, but it’s going to retail for very close to wholesale, since Nikon margins to retailers isn’t too good in the first place (and according to Hogan, decreasing.)

Well..on to the Coolpix announcements. Wouldn’t it be something if Nikon surprised us with something really cool? (But I doubt it.)

Since all the lenses I mentioned are for full frame (and great on DX), I will continue to hope that with (hopefully) coming FX announcements later this year, some of these lenses will come at that time as well!

Well, we did not get the weird lens that was listed on the roadmap with the D300s announcement. Is this enough to debunk that rumor? Maybe – can’t tell yet. Let’s wait for the next big announcement and then we can finally decide.

Trust me, if I get something – I will post it, but I think the rest of the announcements for this year will be full frame (except the Coolpix cameras next week).

I would say Coolpix cameras. One of them is a p&s with a build in projector. The other one may be a P6000 replacement. I am not 99% sure yet, but I think the projector thing is very real. I expect to know more over the weekend.
