I'll have to say that this looks significantly more sensible than the D5000.

I think that this is genuine. If you look at the mode dials, there are things in a different order and the auto-no-flash is seemingly missing on the D3000. If it were faked I would imagine they wouldn't have gone to the trouble on the dial.

"Poop, Fart, Wuss.

Tripods are for losers.

Camera backpacks are for sissies.

Digital is for dummies.

Leica is for real men.

I worked in TV for 10 years while working in Hollywood for 15 years while being a circuit engineer at tektronix for 23 years and I helped make the first digital camera while being an inventor for 50 years while shooting 90 rolls of film a day for 62 years.

D40!!!! "

I wish my job was that easy. At least I'm doing something remotely useful.

He is right, because I forgot to say that this new sensor should have at least 12 bit raw files. If they were only 8 bit, you would quickly exhaust the 256 unique images that could be produced. And that would be rubbish.

BTW Ken are you sure that your darkroom is properly ventilated?

Just asking. . . :-)

"If things keep growing like this, and camera makers miss the mark for new models, demand for film gear is going to be so strong in a few years that Pentax K1000s will be selling for about $650 ~ $725, Canon AE-1s will go for about $950 ~ $1,100, and the AE-1 program, which goes for about $50 today (up from $35 last month) will fetch $1,450 ~ $1,575."

No joke. This is from a very recent post on Ken Rockwell's site. . .

Up here in Soviet Canuckistan the D5000 kit with 18-55mm VR lens seems to be about $100 or so cheaper than when it was released.

Why do people select "dislike/do not post again"? I could see if they do that for a totally useless post, but most of the ones I see are actually for helpful posts. What kind of post would please these people? Geez.

I want a 1 pixel sensor. Having just one pixel, Moire effects would be eliminated, so the images would be super-sharp as an anti-alias filter would not be required. Furthermore, the one pixel would not require a colour or IR filter, so the sensor would be able to record at ISO 51,200 without significant noise. This sensor could be fitted in the much desired b&w only digital FM3. What do you think? Any other potential customers for a camera with such a sensor?
