I do get a lot of e mail that I check and filter out the garbage. This 35mm AIS lens, I did not catch – I did check, but not in the manual focus section.

Absolutely disappointed. Admin still did not learn from previous critique and continuously show us that you are ridiculous and know little about Nikon history.

AIS 35 f/1.4 is still producing now.

I had been trusting nikonrumors so far. But now, I think I have reservation on this site.

IMO, I think you should study the so-called “rumors” in a logical way, analyze its reliability and, if you don’t know much about it, ask your experienced Nikon friends. I agree that you need to report every “smoke” but I think it should be in a sensible way. Like I can one day email you seeing a 50mm f/1.2. If you do not study it, you may simply post that AF-S 50 1.2 is about to launch. Study it, and you would know there is AIS 50mm f/1.2 still in production. If you are brainlessly reporting the “rumors”, I think it would severely decrease the creditability of NR.

You’d better apologize for your carelessness to all respectful NR readers, or delete all the posts including this news immediately. But if you choose the later, I hope that my voice could come into your mind and you could really learn this time, not just having deleted my post last time but without learned.

Not sure what your definitely of “rumor” is, but it seems like a rumor to me. Now, maybe it’s a rumor that will be busted w/ a high degree of certainty… that’s possible. But unless you can point out that there’s *definitely* no 35mm f1.4 in the works, then why bother crying about it? Just kill the tab and move on. Just because you think you’re cool for having looked up information on the 35mm f1.4 AIS on Google doesn’t mean you need to go waving your internet dick around at people.

Go outside and shoot pictures or something- relax. Or does recommending that sort of thing make *me* an idiot?

Why ever not? They still produce them and they are superb manual lenses – better in many ways than any of the AF-S modern lenses. They are true quality, precision instruments – not toys from the age of the digital photographer. From the time when you needed skill and talent to be a photographer not just a large wallet.

unbelievable it is as old as me, 27 ago
are you sure it is still be produced?
camera stores should not listed those outdated lens
or the menu will be exploded and caused a lot of trouble ha ha …

Uh, I don’t see any mention of AF-S in the lenses you’ve mentioned. Nikon’s had a 35mm f/1.4 AI-S for years. AI. Not AF.

come down, this site is called NIKON RUMORS, not NIKON ANNOUNCEMENTS…
About the lens rumor, checked it today by myself, at a store called Hartlauer in Austria and found exactly the same three 35mm lenses.
There were no hint about Af-s, D or Ais , just the “DX” showed up in the system, so if the 35 1.4 Ais is still in production, it could be this lens.
One last thing about the 35 1.8 DX, looks like nikon needs more of them that they can deliver at the moment (here in austria), 3-4 weeks waiting time for the lens. WOW!

as many others have stated, nikon make already a 35/1.4

writing AF-S in the title of the news is a good way to increase traffic the site owners (and the advertisers) but doesn’t add anything for us

My bet is that Nikon will keep video out of FX for now, to keep prices up for FX bodies. This way they’re separating pros from the rest.
