I agree that it says D2H. I thought so before reading this comment. Looks like one, too:

You can't discern the difference between a small-caps "H" and a small-caps "X" based on that smudgy blow-up. What are you so certain "that's definitely not an H?"

Take a closer look:

No way does that say D2h. It might say D2X, but that's definitely not an H. Besides, this is all moot because is there any difference between the outside of a D3 body and a D3X body? It's what's inside that counts.

The rightmost D3 prototype isn't labeled "D3x," it's labeled "D2h," just like other three. Nikon wasn't giving any "signs," they were doing the opposite -- using the name of a camera they'd already made as a placeholder for the final product label.

Dear Admin: thanks a lot for the links of the 5D Mark II Black dots, and the A900 - D3x RAW files comparison.

Very good info :)

(about the black dtos, it deserves a good investigation; the picture seems to be at high ISO, but it's worth knowing that issue !! It would be very useful to know every camera's issue or bug -Nikon and Canon- because most reviews don't show them...)

he he he finally I could listen to an interview straightly in Italian. I have to say that the translated version is very oversimplified just for video purposes, though.

No comments or test shots ?

What about these ?
http://www.chassimages.com/forum/index.php/topic,33758.0.html
They were done by a guy who mainly shoots aircrafts in flight, at La Boutique Nikon, Paris.
I'm looking forward his 2009 production, with 500 and 600VRs :)
