A reader noticed that the hot shoe on the Leica S2 appears to be a Nikon pin-out configuration - Leica's usual M-TTL hot-shoe has longer contacts towards the back of the body.

Hmm… Leica S2 = Nikon MX? That would be something…
I wonder it is Lecia one, not Nikon. As you can see there are a large are of contductive area around the Nikon hot shoe, S2 looks as M8 more than Nikon.

Correct – but after talking to few readers on this subject, not everyone reads LeicaRumors, so I decided to post it here as well.
The R9 has the same hotshoe.
It has been announced by Leica that perhaps when the S2 comes to market that they will have a different flash/contact/shoe configuration….it will happen eventually.
