Can anyone verify whether there are exif problems (apertures of f/95, focal lengths of 6200mm) with the update? It seems an unlikely coincidence that my camera decided to go screwy the day I installed the firmware update.

Is it true that focussing Non-AFs will be faster with additional battery?

Tried to get this info from Nikon at various fairs but to no reliable reply.

Slow focussing is a real issue to me with jumpy kids as customers, so please confirm this info, maybe with link?

Can anyone else who’s upgraded to version 1.10 tell me if you have any problems using the SU-800 iTTL flash commander unit?
I had an issue on Friday using the whole SB-R1C1 package on the body with firmware version 1.10, but it worked perfectly on the one with version 1.03!

If you’ve had any problems, or if your SU-800 is working perfectly with version 1.10, please let us know . . .

At the risk of starting a flame war…

the reason the camera only shoots at 6fps without the battery grip is because the grip with batteries other than NiMH allows for higher voltage usage. This means that the camera can take advantage of the higher voltage and shoot 8fps, as well as focus faster with non AF-S lenses.

I am pleasantly surprised at the substance of this upgrade. It’s not just a bunch of little menu changes, but it has performance changes that are appreciated!

• The range of settings available for ISO sensitivity settings>ISO sensitivity autocontrol>Minimum shutter speed in the shooting menu has been increased from 1/250–1 s to 1/4000–1 s.
• Focus acquisition performance in dynamic-area AF mode has been improved.
• Focus acquisition performance with contrast-detect AF has been improved.
• Auto white balance performance has been improved.

That said, I am pleased to get “Recent Settings” back as in the D200. Now if only they had given us the ability to set bracketing in 2 stop increments for HDR work!

Hi there.
I’m a Nikon shooter from Brazil.
Recently I broke my D300′s LCD screen. I’m shooting like film!!!
Can I uptade the firmware, adjust some configs through Camera Control Pro?!
The repair service charged US670 to fix it… Way too expensive!!! Fortunately the insurance company payed me.

You forgot to mention that it also “fixes” the bug that allows you to access 8fps without the MB-D10 mounted…

No Problems with it, too. I am from Austria in Europe. My camera’s language ist german and all new features are listed and explained in german – so it seems to be OK for any region.
