It is probably no more than an adjustment for the drop in the value of the dollar.

Nikon prices in dollars it seems.

The value of the dollar is going up not dropping but still makes more since that way :) But it still only 3 cents more than it was 6 mont

Nikon Lens prices in France or Europe generally is way too high compared to US or Asia.

Bonnes remises mais sur des prix de bases hyper excessifs, bilan on trouve sur d’autres sites web, des prix d’objectifs inférieurs à ceux de la boutique Nikon, même avec la remise… Donc c’est pas une bonne offre !

“To celebrate Nikon’s 75th anniversary, there is a major discount on Nikon lenses in France” – is there? Or is it a discount of this one dealer only?
Could someone with profound French skills please translate the sentence “Pour les 75 ans des optiques Nikon, dites NIKKOR, une opération de réduction sur une gamme d’objectifs, à valoir sur le tarif Nikon-France à la BOUTIQUE NIKON”?

If I understand it correctly, this means:
Yes, they seem like good discounts. BUT, the prices listed before discount are excessively high. Even after discount some still more expensive than normal. So not such a good deal. (Not a literal translation, just what I think the poster said)

  • Carl

Translation: Because of the 75 years of Nikon optics, known as Nikkor, there is a discount program for Nikon lenses, and the discount is applicable to the official Nikon list prices in the Boutique Nikon.

First, this means that the discount is relative to the official Nikon prices in France, which is a bad thing, as the street prices tend already to be much lower than the official list prices.

Also, this Boutique Nikon isn’t Nikon itself, it’s just one of several Nikon authorized dealers in France, so the discount is only when you buy from this dealer.

In my opinion this is only a good marketing trick.

    Hope this helps

    Carl
