    Good to see that.

It’s one of the good things of having competition

Looking at some prices (amazon vs B&H vs BeachCamera) I see some differences…
Sometimes more than $100 (for instance in the D700)

    Why?
Is something hidden behind their prices?

Wich one would you do Not recommend and why?

    Thanks.

Actually, B&H sells the D700 for 2,799 now. It was 2,899 a couple of days ago, but now they reduced it further. You have to add it to the cart to see the price.

I personally like Amazon (direct). My next choice is B&H – I don’t like that hey are closed on weekends. Never had a problem returning an items back with those 2 stores.I don’t know Beach Camera, but I will not risk it for $100 less. Again – personal opinion.

I have used Beach Camera and they were great.

May or may not be a reaction to new camera announcements but also just as likely a simple adjustment to the state of the economy. Or even the strength of the dollar against the yen.

Thanks – just curious: does the D90 kit come with 18-55 lens in Germany?

I bought it from Mediamarkt, a major electronic supermarket in germany. I went there for a compact Nikon for my girlfriend, was not expecting a D90 shows up there because it’s not yet on amazon.de and my local Nikon shop says i have to wait till mid-oktober… but it was there in mediamarkt, price 1059 euro, only available in kit with 18-55 lens. I asked the only staff there but he was a newbie, knows nothing about the 18-105 lens. I didnt find it anywhere myself either, so i bought the one they have… on the box it says “D90 + 18-55 Lens kit” (not on my photo tho), and according to the warranty it is “imported” from Netherlands.

I think the “official” kit is not here yet, as the local nikon shop said it should come in 2 weeks or so, i just cant wait…

Anyone knows if Canon’s prices got lower too ?

Just to know if there was a global reaction, or only from Nikon.

I am not sure about that – I am not tracking Canon prices… yet… I think the drop of Nikon D700 came when Canon announced their new Canon DSLR with video.

D90 price is still stable, but I will include it in the next update. The prices are now available also on the side bar.

I just noticed that Amazon is selling the Nikon D90 kit for $1,256.99.
