There’s also the English version of the website: http://www.discovernikon.eu/en/

Although that doesn’t offer any more information.

Kuri, I am still waiting on those pictures from the MX lens boxes – the week is almost over. Unless I get some credible evidence from you, I cannot trust your predictions. It doesn’t help your credibility if you are using a different name every time you post. If what you said is true, you would be one of our best sources, but I need more than words. You have to understand my point – everyone can leave a comment here and I am not falling for this trap anymore. I am waiting – like they say in London “you have the ball now”

    Thanks!

Guys, it looks like the 50mm lens on the cover of Apple’s Aperture box. Check it out at http://www.apple.com/aperture.

I hate to say it but exploring this link would leave me to believe Nikon isn’t announcing anything new for Photokina:

    Damn strange if Aperture had an image of the upcoming Nikkor all along, because it sure aint canon’s 50mm;

The site http://www.discovernikon.eu/de/ appears to be legit – Nikon logo etc. Did they steal this image from Apple?

im sorry to be the one to point this out, as hopefull as i am for new prime lenses from nikon, but you have to take into account the strong possibility that this is not a release (since teh add makes no mention of new primes) but simply a add showing Nikon’s participation at Photokina using a stock image of a 50mm F/1.4… Coincidently the same Stock image that Apple used for the Apperture Box… i simply find it FAR too unlikley that Nikon allowed Apple to use an image of their un-released lens that far in advance…

OBVIOUSLY fake site. just check the grammar. or the design and animations… or the terms of use link. this screams fake…

I guess the site is genuine.
But it also seems there won’t be new products.

What day in november (or october?) was someone telling to be aware ??

Wouldn’t it be a little odd to select a 50mm prime as the photo that depicts the essence of your message for the show, and then not offer any new products to match the photo?

There WILL be (among others) a new AF-S 1.4/50G but the one here is fake. Not to be launched at photkina as still in stage 3 testing. May be anounced at PK, but allow at least 2-3 months for release.
Due to release compatability with MX project. Also, the ‘box’ sizes mentione earlier were wrong. The were randon type to test design ideas, not actual lans data. How do I know? Ha!
    Remember this: 14 March 2009.

Other focal lengths? Please say 35, but alas, I fear not.

35? honestly i would assume a 24 or 25mm would be more usefull to most Nikon users… especially those still using D200/300 and D2x(s) models!

sadly i have to agree with you… i was just looking over the site myself while others think it may be a fake, i feel it does appear legitimate. so unless it gets updated with some announcement tomarrow (unlikley in IMHO) i dont think we will really see anything more for Photokina… i guess we will just have to wait 6 months for WPPI and PMA…

The site is 100% no fake.
Just go nikon.de and see that Nikon links to that site (left side of the page)

I have been exploring these rumor sites lately, those for Canon too, and I am perplexed and puzzled.

I can’t help but think you should all go capture some images with the equipment you have rather than salivating in an almost animal-like fashion over products that may or may not exist or be about to exist – maybe!

What’s the difference between two artists and two photographers?

Two artists can get together without discussing brushes!

    That’s what I saw too…

and why I asked about someone’s telling some dayas ago about a date in NOVEMBER, I can’t remember.. exactly what day???

I Honestly think there will be some news about Nikon DSLRs in this year (at least some announcement), especially after the EOS 5D Mark II wich seems very nice and will make big noise…

There are already some video clips taken with the 5D mk II available for download, and some sample gallery at DPReview, and even though I watched quickly I found them very good.
I’m now downloading the video clips.

I doubt it, probably more like a 28 in the offing. 35 because it best approximates 50mm field of view on a DX sensor. The 50mm on the DX is too tight for indoor work. Admittedly, 24 or 25 would give you a traditional wide angle FOV. If we have to wait too long, may have to go with the Sigma 30 f/1.4 or the 28. If the primes are MX lenses with a 0.5 crop factor they will probably be beyond my price range anyway.

    More?

Call me crazy, but I think there will be more (personal opinion). Nikon has not updated their lens catalog yet. Usually they do this at the time of the announcement – this is why their web sites go down at midnight (US eastern time) every time when there is a new product.Nikon USA, I know you are reading this – you have few mistakes on the AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G site. Dear Mr. BlogAdmin.

As you will have seen by now my AF-S 1.4/50G prediction was spot on.
Announced today but not available till december.

I’m sure you’d rather have me posting from my company e-mail, that would probably reassure you.
But I’m not THAT dim. Because by mentioning that I post under different names, you clearly are not nearly as concerned about protecting your sources as you make out to be on this site.
I have sent you an e-mail you can reply to regarding this issue. I’d appreciate the courtesy of a reply on this issue by e-mail.

Nikon SUCKS! I have a D3 and I love it but if Nikon can’t get some decent f’ing primes, they are going to piss me off! I can’t believe that they have been unable to update their primes yet…yeah so they have a 50 1.4G that looks like a toy and they charge $500 for it…get a life Nikon! Seriously, I understand our mount is smaller than Canon’s but does that mean we will never get a 1.2 AF-S prime? If so, that sucks! Also, what about an 85, 35, 24 and a decent 50?
