Since you took that Page 2 idea from Macrumors, why don’t you go all the way and add a box for the latest Page 2 rumors headlines on your mainpage?
I’m a macrumors regular and I never go on their Page 2 page directly. I always click on the links in the little left-hand box from their mainpage, and only if some Page 2 title interests me.
Going directly to the Page 2 page without knowing if there’s anything new or interesting to us… it won’t happen a lot.
