Circuit City now has the Nikon D90 on its web site (updated)

Update: CC took the site down. Somebody just lost their job today. I wonder if all those pre-orders will be valid. I think they may cancel them all. This is "unfair competitive advantage" or whatever the legal term is and as I said before other retailers will be pissed. The link is long gone, but here is a detailed snapshot: http://flickr.com/photos/nikonrumors/. The detailed specs can also be found here and the pictures are here.

I told you it will be fun!

I forgot to take the screenshot while at the CC site earlier, however, Gizmodo has it on their website.

HD movie mode: Capture your surroundings in cinematic quality. The D90 features the D-Movie mode, which shoots HD movie with sound at 24fps.

    that is the bang!

    Right!

HD-Video with changeable lenses, huge pixels and wide angles for around 1000EUR is _really_ great stuff!

I guess no AF-Tracking and most likely fixed WB and exposure for each movie but OK for me. Wonder how they will close the aperture without sucking empty the battery.

I will probably wait until october or so, at the local online store the D700 started at 2800 euros, then went down to 2400 and now it’s at 2340. that’s a 16% drop in around a month. if I can squeeze the body+lens+card+case in 1000 euros that will be grand

What about a BODY ONLY price? I hope that we wont need to wait months for that option to come out..

CC just removed the page from their web site…

    Too late ;-)

Glad I downloaded the page while the going was good. :-)

Uhoh! I already put in my pre-order while it was still available, let’s hope CC won’t screw it up somehow.

Expect the body only price to be about a grand but it may not be available body only right away if Nikon wants to move the kit with the lens.

CC removed the D90 again, but google captured a bit of the info

    http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Acircuitcity.com+d90

“Purchase the Nikon D90 12.3-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera with 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6 Lens and other Digital SLRs at circuitcity.com.”

If CircuitCity removed the whole page listing the Nikon D90 for preorder, you can be pretty sure that they did screw up Cole.

    Possibly big time. . . ;-)

google doesn’t index every single page as soon as it’s put online, it takes from minutes to hours to days, it depends

    Anyone, did screenshot?

Hah, well I’m more worried about a CC of a different nature–if this gets Circuit City in a row with Nikon, that’s not much of my concern. I’m more concerned about having to hassle their billings department if they process my order incorrectly (such as it is) :-)

I am aware of that. Quite evidently the CircuitCity page offering the Nikon D90 on preorder was indexed by Google as the link provided above shows. I do not understand why it apparently was not cached by Google at the same time that it was indexed. Maybe it was cached but the cached page was removed at the same time that the actual page was removed but I thought the whole point of caching pages was to make their content available for some time after they had been deleted.

Since I happily discovered that had not yet closed the CircuitCity page offering the Nikon D90 on preorder I was able to take some screen shots and posted them at the bottom of my own blogpost about the Nikon D90. Nikon Rumors is most welcome to snag these screenshots if they want to.
