Nikon D3x, D90 available for pre-order on a well know French site!

Nikon D3x available for pre-order @ 4990.00 EUR in France:

There is also a D90 link with with a D80 picture and a price of 799.00 EUR:
http://www.muller-photo-service.fr/boutique/nikon-boitier-p-855-1_3.html

Apparently this shop had the D700 and the 7D in pre-order a long time before some other shops.

That’s strange… pre-order before the official announncement???? Dear Nikon: we know the price, almost every specification, we can even pre-order it – so why the hell you just don’t press release it??????

  • MarkDphotoguy

The D700 was Nikons second worst kept secret (next to the D90) so it’s easy for them to set up a non commited price and start selling the things-irresponsible (as they are taking peoples money without any 100% certainty of what the product will be or a delivery timeframe) but easy.
D3x is BS though. High MP pro body not until photokina time frame and not to be a D3x but something altogether new.
We’ll see a D800 before we see the high MP pro body I believe.
Sooner the better but I think we’ll have to be patient as on the 27th we’ll see the D90, D800 (most likely if canon release their 5D replacement on the 26th) and hopefully the new Nikkor AF-S 50mm f/1.4 G (N).

Relax, this shop has been doing this for ages – meaning irresponsible and baseless offerings for sale of non-existing cameras, with the sole purpose of drawing people to their site. They’ve been bashed on Canon forums for their 5DII/7D offer (using pics of 5D and other older cameras). This is the last place I would look for any kind of information. The only “pre-order” that you can do with them is give them your money for free use for a couple of months, following which they will annul your order because the camera never made it to life, and/or costs much more/less, etc.

  • matt

are they able to annul my order because the D90 will cost more?? i don’t think so, and if the D90 will cost more, everybody who preordered it, will pay less, i hope ;) ?!

  • Fred

    Absolutly true !
    shame on them….

It seems odd that they don’t offer any Nikon bodies *except* for those two models. You can’t but a D300 or a D3 or a D60 from them … not just out of stock, but not even listed. Seems like a very odd sort of shop to me.

“Ce produit a été ajouté à notre catalogue le vendredi 24 août, 2007″ –
it means “the product was added to our catalogue at 24th Agoust !!! 2007 !!! ”

  • thedude

    sacre bleu!

  • NikonTester

The date is 24 August 2007 (not 2008), the picture is of a D3 (not D3X),
the price could be applicable to D3,
this rumor should’ve been screened by this site – they usually have more credible information.

  • NikonTester

(From initial post above), “Apparently this shop had the D700 and the 7D in pre-order a long time before some other shops.”
What “..7D..”? Are they refering to a camera by Konica-Minota released back in January 2005?” …

  • Blog Admin

No, I think the reader who sent me that info was referring to the Canon EOS 7D.

  • Blog Admin

I think this is still a valid rumor – it indicates that D90 and D3x will be released soon. I agree that the whole page is cheesy, but readers from France claim that this is a legit retailer. Why would they put something that they don’t have any info on? Why don’t they put a D10 or D800, maybe even D900? Probably they do not have inside info on those models, but I think they do know something about the D90 and D3x. This is the rumor we reported and that’s why this post exists.

  • Frenchguy

I know this shop in France, it’s a real shop, not only online. Im agree, pages are “light” and with wrong pics or infos, but if they have Publish those
pages it’s surely because they know something… and it’s a rumor, isn’t it ? so
    we’ll see after photokina :)

  • Blog Admin

I think you got my point correctly. Others didn’t.

Hard to tell at that resolution.

    The “9” looks very suspicious…

  • MarkDphotoguy

I sell cameras for a living and ANY retailer claiming a current IN production camera (D300) is no longer in production is a retailer to be avoided. The D300 being discontinued makes no sense and the thought is devoid of reason. Nikon clearly has an established history of maintaining a product like the D300 in the line up for at least two years. To do otherwise is to piss of your customer base. Nikon IS a smart company an would not do that and have no established history of such behavior.
This french retailer will obviously do anything and say anything to make the pre order seem logical and are preying upon the less informed of the general public, shame on them.

Thanks for the comment. I have a quick question: I got some reports that authorized dealers are receiving invitations for an Nikon event at the end of August with some teaser slogans, something like “the flow of images” (referring to the video in D90?). Can you confirm that? Email me if you have to.

    Thanks!
  • dfgdfgdfg

did anyone look at the link? the d90 is there!!!

  • Blog Admin

What are you talking about? The page is the same with a picture of the D80? Am I missing something?

  • NikonTester

“The date is 24 August 2007 (not 2008), the picture is of a D3 (not D3X),
the price could be applicable to D3,” – that’s where my post could’ve stopped. My Apologies for going on about whether or not the post should exist, as of course it should exist (this is a Rumor site). Took the post in too rigid of a context for the information this site is offering. While I think maybe the OP could’ve noted the date and picture themselves to clarify the context initially, it’s up to each viewer to evaluate the rumors they see and give feedback (to the rumor, not the site). NikonRumors, thanks for being here for us.

“prix et photo ( non contractuel )”
Price and design could ( will ?) be different.

  • Stefan

Yes, Muller was right to “offer” the D700 before its official launch. However, since it’s available, Muller removed this model from the list.

Muller has only two cameras on stock: Canon 1000D and 450D. Two additional ones are out-of-stock: Canon 40D and Sony Alpha 700. The other four models on the list do not exist. Canon 7D, Nikon D90, D3x and Sony Alpha 900. Muller does not have ANY existing Nikon DSLR for sale; there is no Canon 1D or 1Ds, no Sony Alpha 200, 300 or 350.

I don’t understand why Muller is offerings no existing products. Yes, the pre-announcement helps to get visitors on the page, but for what purpose if there is nothing you can buy? The shop looks like fraud.

And I do not understand why NikoRumors refers to this site.

  • MarkDphotoguy

Unfortunately our local Nikon rep is super tight lipped (such is the power of the Nikon NDA). I can confirm that he will be in a sales meeting next week and announcements usually follow the sales meetings as that’s when the reps are made aware of new product (at least in Canada). The date of August 27th seems to fit with this timeframe.

  • Blog Admin

Thanks for the good words. Few people reported that this is a legit dealer in France and we still consider this as “significant” news. I will have to check if this dealer is an authorized Nikon reseller.

  • Richard

The page shown specifically states that the offered price is not binding, and lists no specs. That makes it vaporware. We’ll know the real specs–and price–soon enough. I’m hoping that its main effect will be to drive down the price on the D3.
