What cameras would replace other cameras? #3 What are they competing against?<br /><br />Nikon has a really solid, modular setup with the Expeed processor and a broad range of sensors to choose from. Canon has the 21mpx sensor in their flagship so of course Nikon will want to one-up that as soon as possible with the available 24mpx sony sensor. Then there are gaps that need to be filled (a-la D90). I don't see the D900 being too realistic unless Nikon is looking to decimate Canon. It is possible for Nikon to take the expeed platform and created a scatter-shot of new DSLRs that are so affordable to get into and have so much headroom for pro possibilities that no one would be able to touch them. But, again, this all remains to be seen.
